Tales India Tours – Designing a Soulful Travel Experience with Heart-to-Heart Connection

Project Type

Client Work (under Dhoomatech)
Designed during my role as a UI/UX Designer at Dhoomatech – Dec 2024 to Present

Tales India Tours is a premium travel brand offering curated journeys across south India. As part of my work at Dhoomatech, I was tasked with designing a website that not only presents tour packages but emotionally connects with users and brings the brand’s heartful story to life.

The core goal was to build a clean, modern, and emotionally immersive experience that reflects the soul of India’s travel—creating a “heart-to-heart” connection with users.

My Role at Dhoomatech

  • UI/UX Design

  • Visual Direction

  • Responsive Web Design

  • Design System Setup

  • Developer Handoff Support

Client Requirement

The website must feel like a heart-to-heart connection. Not just a travel listing site—it should speak to the user, build trust, and make them feel part of the journey.

This emotion-driven vision shaped every design decision—from typography and color to layout and interaction flow.

Project Goals

  • Create a minimal & luxurious design aligned with premium travel

  • Make the experience feel personal and emotional

  • Guide users smoothly from discovery → exploration → inquiry

  • Ensure strong mobile responsiveness

  • Build trust through clarity, visuals, and tone

Design Strategy

1. Visual Storytelling
  • Full-screen photography showcasing India’s people, places, and moods

  • Human-centric visuals: local culture, real moments, landscapes

  • Narrative-style homepage layout that feels like a travel diary

2. Warm Aesthetic
  • Earth-tone color palette (beige, gold, soft browns) to reflect tradition and warmth

  • Rounded corners, soft shadows for emotional softness

  • Fonts that evoke elegance with approachability

3. Simple, Emotive Messaging
  • Buttons with phrases like “Start Your Journey” (vs. “Submit” or “View”)

  • Clean, conversational headings: “Explore India Like Never Before”

  • Avoided corporate or sales-heavy language—focused on connection

4. User Journey Optimization
  • Clear sticky navigation with tour filtering

  • Easy inquiry flow with quick access forms

  • Mobile-first design logic for travelers on-the-go

  • Seamless page flow from scroll to action

Tools Used

  • Figma

  • Miro (for flow planning & client notes)

  • Photoshop (image prep)

What I Learned

  • Designing with emotion requires more than beauty—it's about intention in every detail

  • Humanizing UX can make even commercial sites feel personal

  • Client communication and alignment helps turn vague ideas like "heart connection" into tangible design outcomes

  • How to balance storytelling with performance and responsiveness
